[gansey also gives ronan points for very clever manipulation, but he's not in love with the part where it seems they've decided he's made of glass. it has not yet occurred to him that the other three depend on his continued safety for their continued sanity, just that he's being babied.]

yeah. once chainsaw stopped freaking out enough that i could unwrap her i guess i slept off whatever that gas was.

but i don't like this. how did people get moved? what the hell happened back there? couldn't they have just asked us to get back on the train? not like there was anywhere else to go.

If there's some power of old gods at stake, wouldn't it make sense for there to be more than one group involved? Considering how many people were after the ley line...

I thought the idea was to keep the gods quiet with sacrifices, like dittley. But if someone wants them sleeping someone else is going to want them awake.

we are so unprepared to be in the middle of that argument.

wouldn't that be nice. We haven't had much in the way of choice so far.

If you keep gods sleeping with blood sacrifice, I wonder how you wake them up.

I thought there was a chance you would diplomatically play it down, which would have been okay.

[there's a fair pause before gansey replies. he's kind of hurt and can't really pinpoint why, because his feelings for blue are reason enough to think he'd do that, not to mention the thing where he seems to be responsible for the balance of the group of them, any hint of bias setting the whole thing wobbling.

so he waits to answer until he's whittled the weird stab of hurt into a tiny splinter of ache to puzzle through later.]

Fair, I guess. Diplomatically playing things down is something I do. A lot.

It's okay to need to touch someone or to be touched and then regret it later. It doesn't make you a bad person. The same goes for not regretting it.

I don't regret it. I regret the hangover a little bit.

You're right. I've just never considered myself in those terms before.

It was a pretty epic hangover. Being a ghost for seven years is hell on your alcohol tolerance, I guess.

It wasn't that much better before I died honestly.

[another pause. gansey knows he's not okay, but he doesn't think this kind of not okay is really fixable. is it worth worrying anyone any more about it?]

[Noah's not really sure what 'this' is. Friends who sometimes make out? He wasn't particularly close with the guys he made out with when he was alive, not that those memories are that clear. He likes kissing, though. He missed touching, missed that physical assertion of existence because only Blue could really give it to him when he was dead. He also likes Gansey, and they're kind of linked on a very cosmic level.

That's about when Noah decides he doesn't want to think too hard on it. He's spent the last six months being a sounding board and helping others with their problems, not having his own.]
